Welcome to the Walthamstow Pumphouse Museum!
The museum is housed in a former Victorian waste water pumping station.
It is devoted to the technology and industrial history of the area with
particular emphasis on the transport and manufacturing innovations
which have taken place in the Lea Valley.
The Pumphouse Museum is currently being transformed into London's newest steam and transport
The project is being developed in and around the Grade II listed Low
Hall Victorian Pumping Station and its rare Marshall C class steam engines.
We are on schedule to have all three Pump House bays fully developed in 2013, and the new museum gallery constructed in 2014.
Formerly known as the Lea Valley Experience, today the Walthamstow Pumphouse Museum is home to a growing collection of transport, artifacts and displays, interpreting the nationally
important steam and transport first achievements of the Lea Valley Corridor.
