It is estimated that the full redevelopment of the museum will cost in the region of three million. The project has the full support of the London Borough of Waltham Forest, the Mayor of London, Seb Coe, LOCOG, local and national museums and societies.
The industrial story of the Lea Valley is a very important part of Britain’s heritage that has been all but forgotten. Over one hundred industrial first achievements have been recorded to-date that have happened in the Lea Valley, with over sixty being in transportation. The Pumphouse museum projects aims and objectives are to ensure that these nationally transport and other achievements are now celebrated for todays and future generations to enjoy. With the 2012 games coming to the Lea Valley this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to ensure that we finish up with a long term legacy for East London and the Lea Valley.
